REGGAE JAZZ LIVE SERIES
Party by Monique Marian
HAVANA 1950 | HIROO, TOKYO
Where Jamaica's Rhythm Meets Jazz Harmony
Join Jamaican vocalist Monique Marian and an exceptional live band for an unforgettable evening celebrating the beautiful connection between reggae and jazz.
From the soulful grooves of Kingston to the improvisational spirit of jazz, Reggae Jazz Live explores a musical journey that spans generations, cultures, and continents.
Whether you're a longtime jazz enthusiast, a reggae lover, or simply someone who enjoys great live music, this intimate concert experience offers a fresh and exciting perspective on one of Jamaica's best-kept musical secrets.
The Story Behind the Music
When most people think of Jamaican music, names like Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, and Sean Paul often come to mind.
But Jamaica's musical legacy runs much deeper.
Artists such as Monty Alexander, Ernest Ranglin, Cedric "Im" Brooks, Don Drummond, and Tommy McCook helped create a uniquely Jamaican sound that blended jazz improvisation with Caribbean rhythms long before "world music" became a global phenomenon.
Reggae Jazz Live pays tribute to these pioneers while bringing their influence into a modern live performance setting.
